I live in N.Y. and I am a witch, and I have four sisters that are witches. Now don't get all spooked out about this, we are really friendly, nice girls. We do not cast spells on people carelessly, we offer friendly advice when asked. This blog is about our days and we want to hear about yours. We will offer advice and our wisdom on a range of subjects. I hope you enjoy it. I believe anyone can be a witch.

Jump, there's a Freight Train!
I just wrote this morning, how everything was so great, and we had such a great time at the concert. I came to terms with the meaning of the sisterhood, and not even three hours later, it was as if we got hit by a freight train. I'm not going to go into the details, but the news just blew us off our heels! After hours of talking, and consoling each other we came back to the same conclusion, after all we still stand tall, hand in hand, sister to sister. Sometimes we don't even have to talk, we can just sit in silence. It doesn't matter what may be said about us, we believe in each other, and love each other and thats enough for us. So tonight join us as we take flight and celebrate our strength. Ready, set, Jump! Write me to learn more...
"We Got it Going On"
This past Thursday night, my sister Jemini had tickets for Bon Jovi. Myself, my daughter Abagail and my youngest sister Fiona all went. Figured it was pouring rain. The weather is usually horrible whenever we venture out together. Once we got to the stadium, the security said no umbrellas,(and we assumed no brooms) were allowed inside. Jemini and I had to hold Fiona back, she almost said a few outspoken words that would have had the security guard crawling on the floor. With a quick snap and a few winks we stored our brooms. The concert was delayed due to the rain, so we got to hang out inside awhile, witch was really fun for us. We were having a great time. Once the concert started we went out and were having a great time, rocking in our long black hooded sweaters, jeans and boots, no one suspeted a thing. When He played "We got it Going On," it really came together. As I listened to the lyrics it is so us.
We got it going on,
The right to let your hair down,
You don't want to miss this,
Shake your souls,
Rattle your bones,
Come together and love everybody.
It is so true, as if he wrote it for us. We have such a powerful bound and love that despite our own crap and problems like everyone else has, when we come together we have such a great time. And we really are pretty outstanding, if I do so say so myself. Jemini is a striking red head, Fiona a gorgeous chestnut, and Abagail is a mesmerizing innocent brunette. They have long flowing hair to the middle of their backs. And me, I'm a blonde, shoulder length, but no doubt, lots of brains here. It is such a phenomenal sisterhood, with powers beyond any belief. And you can be part of it...be a follower...

My Friend and the Evil Eye
I have a good friend that works in the village nearby. He is from Turkey, he is a very kind man who has been here for close to twenty years. He works very hard everyday and sends money home to his wife and children. On night on his way home from work, he was riding his bicycle, and was hit by a car and was sent by ambulance to the hospital. I passed the accident in my car, I saw the ambulance, the police cars, and even the fire engines at the scene. I had no idea it was my friend, but it looked awful and tragic. I found out the next day, it was my friend, Mario. I was devastated. There was something about this man that hit a cord inside of me. Nothing scary, or even flirtatious, it was like he just knew who I was. He was always kind and respectful. Now that he was so seriously hurt I had to go see him in the hospital. And I did. I brought him a set of crystal rosary beads I had, to help him get well. He was quite thankful for the visit and the gift. Now he is home and getting better every day. I saw him today, while I was out flying around, and he gave me a gift. He said it was from his country. I opened it. It was a blue and silver evil eye. Beautiful, thank you Mario. He said, to keep it with me. Did you ever hear about putting the evil eye on your forehead?

The Rings
So the other night my boyfriend comes over for dinner, and after dinner, I'm not sure if it was Him or my Daughter, Abagail who asked for a toothpick. I have this adorable little toothpick holder, I picked up while in one of my trips to Salem. Its has this little witch on it. I told my daughter it was in the cabinet. She took it out, and tells me its empty and leaves it on the table. Now He picks it up and tells me, 'hey there are some rings in here.' 'Oh really', I reply. And he goes on to question the rings. 'Well these are a bit strange, there are six, they are all black and they all have weird, ugly faces on them'. I say, 'skulls are in style now, you know, 'in vogue,'' and He is like, "What? Its more of that Witch stuff isn't it?" Now how silly is that. He threatens to take them with him, but I tell him he best not do that, and as He takes them out of his had and lays them back on the table, they jiggle and jump as if the table if shaking, and one rolls off. I gladly hand him a toothpick, and pick up my rings and put them back where they belong, until the next time I'll need them. Whats going on in your house? Care to tell...

Oops, the wrong flick of the hand!
I know I mentioned in my profile that I have an absolutely wonderful daughter. Well she recently turned sixteen, yes a very Sweet Sixteen. She has blossomed into a beautiful, smart young lady with some of my qualities. I gave her a grand party for this special birthday and welcomed her into the 'Sisterhood.' Yes, right there in front of all her friends and my family, my sisters and I brought out the Magic Wands, the frog, and the pixie dust. And after each of us, the five sisters bestowed each of our spells on her, my daughter became part of the sisterhood. Today she is a witch.
Yesterday, while I was in the garden, my daughter came out and was upset to see the little bush, an azalea, had died. Somehow, the combination of her words and alittle flick of her hand, in an attempt to resurrect the little tree, we suddenly heard a loud crash. She must have tangled her words a bit and with the sweep of that hand, instead of bringing the little azalea back to life, she pulled the tree, across the street, right out of the ground, oops! Looks like I'll have to summon the girls to replant this one, its going to be quite a job. And my daughter will have to work on her wording, and be careful with those pretty hands. Practice makes perfect, my dear. Xo

Recycled Roses
I must say I have the most gorgeous long stem red roses for Mothers Day from someone quite dear to me. They came in the most extraordinary box, flown in from Florida, they are close to three feet tall, and the color is absolutely to die for. The deepest red, and shaded, they look like velvet, and fragrance could cast a spell on anyone, tantalizing. And now the days have past, and they are getting droopy and sad. So it is time to clean out the water in the vase re-cut the stems and off with the heads, yes, take the top of the flower off, and enjoy the long green stems. Too bad the florist de-thorned them, I suppose that is the benefit of homegrown roses. So next time, remember to recycle more than your cans, bottles, and newspapers. Make this world a beautiful planet. For more household tips, ask me for suggestions, I'll be glad to help.

Graduation Day
Well, well, well, yes, two of my boys graduated from a very fine University in Philadelphia yesterday. So of course, I flew down yesterday, to meet the sisters to be there to witness this great achievement. A spectacular day. One of the boys, son of my oldest sister, Jemini, graduated Magna Cum Laude, in Chemical Biology. My middle sister, Angelica's son, graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Finance, taking after moi, a brain in finance. And of course both boys are absolutely as handsome as can be, you know apples always fall close to the tree. No, not rotten apples; fresh, ripe, delicious apples, you just can not resist.
It was a wonderful day, full of celebration. They worked hard to reach their goals and achieved them. For me, it was good to be with my girls yesterday, we never seem to have enough time together, and time is so precious. The time to celebrate is so important. To celebrate with the people most important to you, who really reach out to you and matter most in your life. They know to be there in these important times, whether its by car, train, broom, the twitch of your nose, or a drop of pixie dust you are going to get there. And that's all that matters.

Same days Just Are Not Good
I must be honest, I have had some pretty rotten days this week. I know everyone has them, but honestly this week, I just had some personal stuff going on, and had a hard time getting over it. Most days I didn't even want to go out. I hate to say it, but I think I was a bit depressed, which is not good for me at all. It is really not like me. Today, I realized that I needed to address it and do something about it. I was beyond sweeping, but a relied on my trusted broom. I put on my good black boots, and took a long ride to clear my head. I let the wind blow through my hair, and soon I was able to see things a bit clearer. My problems my not be solved, but I think I can deal with them tomorrow. So for now, my trusty broom is back by my front door, and I'm about to take off my boots, and for now I'm looking forward to tomorrow instead of dreading it. I wish you a good night and a happy day ahead.

Bad Days
Everyone has bad days, when you just don't want to get out of bed, and when you do get out all you want to do is just get back in. Well I have two little devil dogs that keep nudging me until I get the heck out of that bed! Yes, they are cute as can be, but they can be a pain in my wicked neck. And they can be absolute warlocks when you cross them and their ears go back and the hair on their back stands up. Come to think of it, same thing kind of happens when someone crosses me or even looks at me the wrong way. Only problem is when they cross me, oh yes, believe me it is not pretty, last time we all ended up bandaged up. And I took a spa day at the hospital. Tempers yes, but I have gotten better, I've learned to simmer the kettle a bit, but I'm still working on my boys. Anyway, my two little dogs did get me up this morning, a day I would have much preferred to sleep. I did have things to tend to and it was a beautiful day. I swept out front and saw a nice chubby bull frog hoping across my path. I thought to myself, yes it is a beautiful day. I looked at my two little devils stretched out in sunlight napping the day away, innocent as can be, and I hope tomorrow is as good as today. What was your day like?

Mother's Day
Well, yes, Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. Hope you truly enjoyed your day. It really should be a day of celebration, after all, we do so much. Everyday is jammed packed, flying around trying to meet deadlines, remember important schedules, somehow take care of our wonderful families, get meals prepared, and have time for us? Or is today the day we get to have that time? Whatever. It's a day for us to be thankful of our mothers and grandmothers too. Although, times have changed, thank goodness, they did lay some ground work for us. Maybe its in our genes but sometimes I catch myself doing things like my mother, or even stirring a pot like my grandmother, she had this twinkle in her eye that always made me smile. Occasionally I glance in the mirror and see my grandmother in me, I catch the slightest twinkle in my eye, which makes me smile and want to click my heels in absolute delight. So think about your mom and grandmother and all those that followed. Thank them for a wonderful day. And to my daughter, I thank you, you are the best, my deary.

The Broom
I have long been a believer in the 'broom.' I believe it cures many ills. Mainly it can clear your head when it gets all jumbled with stress and crazy stuff that makes us all plan nuts. When this happens I just sweep, yes I lightly use the broom and sweeep my house to get rid of all that nasty stuff that has laid hidden in the corners for a fews days or longer. If I'm really upset I'll sweep the garage, or even outside, of course with another broom, mind you. It truly makes me feel better when I'm done. Now, I said I was a believer in the broom, and it does have great power. I keep an old one I have had for years parked at my front door, (yes inside). Surprisingly, no one ever questions why the old broom is sitting there. When I finish sweeping my house and I then look at that broom still there at my door, it gives me amaziing strength and energy to go on. And I promise you, you can find that drive and ambition from a simple broom too. And besides, you never know where that broom can take you.

Good Evening
Yes, it is a Good Evening, nice and cool out, I so love May nights, eventhough I am still coughing and sniffling from this awful flu that I got from who knows where. Anyway, it still is so pleasureable to sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze before the heat of July and August creeps up on us. Or maybe a nice stroll, do you have someone you would like to go for a walk with? Or is there someone you would like me to put a spell on for you? Now, now, just think positive thoughts. Keep thinking about that person over and over in your little head, and give it some time, maybe a week, maybe a month, maybe longer, but remember about those coincidences, never take them for granted. And when you least expect it, it will happen. So for now, just sit back and enjoy the evening.

Who put a hex on me?
Hey there, out there, its me, and I'm sick. Doctor says its a summer flu. So strange that I'm this under the weather, when its been so beautiful out. It has got me wondering if someone has put a hex on me. And I"ve been good, I think.. Or maybe I just had some mixed up brews, you know like potions, of course I don't drink liquor. What do you think?

Are you a witch?
Have you ever thought of yourself as a witch? Of course, not a bad witch, I mean not a green witch with warts, dressed in all blackwith a big hat. Just a modern day witch. Maybe you don't know what a modern day witch is. Well she/he is very confident, strong minded and vey good hearted. However, we are careful to not be manipulated and seldom take coincidence for granted. And we stick together in a like sisterhood, where we always back each other. We don't tolerate outsiders violating us. Think about it, next I'll tell you about the broom.

Sunday
How was your Sunday? Was your day leisurely, relaxing, and fulfilling? Or was it one of those Sundays that you couldn't wait to end because it was more crazy and stressful than a weekday? That's how my day was, crazy, I felt like I was playing beat the clock all day. Now its ten o'clock pm and I am tired and thinking about another week ahead. Tell us about yours. Keep it clean, eventhough I keep my broom handy.
