Finding a cure...

There’s a fine line the powers of a witch and the powers of modern mortals. It’s a fine line with a deep gorge on both sides, one that we witches know how to navigate upon our brooms, but ones others scratch their heads over, looking for some seemingly logical explanation as to “why” or “how come”.

And sometimes we witches think we know all the spells and potions, but then we get short sighted, overlooking the most obvious of explanations to what ails us.

Modern mortals, especially doctors, when faced with some mystery of our lives or being, are quick to point a finger in the direction of things that are causes. Something goes awry and there’s a logical explanation they think. Deficient in this, overindulging in that, exposure to something, a freak of nature that causes us to suffer and fall apart.

And while modern medicine is indeed a gift and a life giving and life saving institution (doctors should be revered, especially the ones with magic up their sleeves), sometimes there are things no blood test or xray or special diet or cream or pill can solve, explain or alleviate.

That’s when, as a smart witch, you take a step back, don’t look at your outward body (because after all that’s just a transient vehicle we get to ride in when the broom is parked), and look inside. You look into your heart and see what’s hurting, what’s broken, what needs fixing, what is eating you.

We, not just witches, have the power to heal ourselves sometimes. If you stop and shut off the cacophony of life there’s a little voice. It’s yours. Get acquainted. You likely have never met before. And when you can finally make out that soft, lilting, melodic voice whispering to you, you’ll hear the truth. Hear it. Accept it. Own it. It’s yours and yours alone and no one can take it away. Pull yourself together, ditch the creams and pills, eat a bagel, have some nuts, coffee with real milk, wine, shellfish…yada yada . Eat chocolate. Have a pastry, especially Gemini’s favorite kind.

The best advice- whether from a witch (or your best friend, or your sister, or your biggest cheerleader) is to LISTEN TO YOUR HEART. Bad things happen when we shut off that little voice inside. Shut off that voice and your heart is lost, shut off that voice and your soul will die.

Save yourself now before it’s too late. The slippery slope down is a steep one, and even the best brooms have been known to lose traction.  Hold on. Fly hard and fast and head to the horizon with your heart leading. The answers, along with bluer skies, will be waiting. Never fear. You fly high, but there’s a net…even if you can’t see it.

Witches Love Summer

Hey you, out there, enjoying Summer? Weather has been glorious, wearing your whites? Yaya, got to be, "Witches in White," this June, July and August. Even the thunderstorms are fabulous, a bit of recovery from the heat, humidity, and stress that creeps up this time of year.

There really is nothing like a day at the beach, somehow you can leave your cares and vows behind. The wind, the ocean breeze, the surf, take your worries away, and let you relax. Let's face it, no body can be stressed, playing volleyball on the beach, building a sand castle, talking a stroll with a loved one, picking shells? As you unwind and fall under the spell of the ocean roar, the sun warms your skin. If you look to sky, concentrate, and stay focused, you may see and hear Apollo riding his chariot back and forth, he is the Sun God, appealing to all the sun worshippers, revitalizing us with our needed doses of vitamin D, heavenly indeed. Dear Poseidon, keeps an eye on our children in the ocean, and alarms our lifeguards when need be. May as well take all the 'free' extra help we can these days.

As a witch, we of course, just love, love, love summer. I look forward to seeing all my friends that tuck away, and return for the glory of Memorial Day and all the days that follow. Those happy, bright faces, on first return, so joyous to be back for the first day, and then everyday. I wish I could bottle the magic,  joy, happiness and the smiles, it's a win, like your favorite ice cream on the hottest day of the year.

It keeps me coming back, even on down days, when its hot, days are long, and it's not always fun. It's not about money, I'm not doing it for me, it's a dream, making a better place. Keeping the powers on my side…

Happy Father's, Warlock's Day

Happy Day? Yaya, you must celebrate, remember nothing is ever peaching keen my dear. Don't waste time stressing over what could have been, no spell, no potion can change the past, it's the past, let it rest. No Dad is perfect. Well, on second thought, I may know one, two, or three, but who's counting? Larabee says, 'you get what you get, and you don't get upset,' but you do get a big pile of dirt under your rug from all the sweeping, and your gastro doctor, is on a first name basis. But somehow you learn to tiptoe when it hurts, keep your potion cabinet locked, refrain from and promise yourself to never, ever, ever, ever spell yourself. Stay focused on the present, days like today are bright, spontaneous and worthy of any sort of festivity, the future is so promising, with new horizons everyday, just open your eyes. So Dad, Warlock, Mom, or whatever, have a party, its Father's Day, Warlock's Day!

As far as mates, husbands, and all that, I hope you haven't let that complicate your holiday, we all make mistakes, you have to let it go, good bye. Some times, we don't even pick them, Adam and Eve, who picked Adam, and it still didn't work out?

So carry on my dear, and if you are carry the flag, doing it all, keep it waving, yaya, wash and wear cape, works quite well, all weather too. And to the good Warlocks, like the good Witches, we are, happy day to you. Hooray, for the Warlocks, whoever you are, celebrate, catch the breeze, rise among us, spread your joy, kick up your heels, leave stress home, and have your greatest day today. And to the bad Warlocks of the world, you're missing out on way too much, time to change channels, besides haven't you heard, green is out.

Witch's Karma

Everyday we strive for some peace in our day, we are good people, we stand for goodness, honesty, and truthfulness, yaya, good karma warms our souls. A bit of joy will brighten our days, and serenity to calm them.  We learn to appreciate the small wonders life offers, and tip toe, skip, sweep or fly over things we cannot control, we take the cards handed, tarots cards laid out, make needed adjustments, yaya, big girl panties, boots on, brooms ready, all the same here.

But then, when evil comes out of no where, and catches us off guard, that hatred, poison, evil, addiction, temptation, just plan "Satan," what then? All bets are off? Do we fall like the wooden soldiers, The Rockettes? Does Evil overcome Goodness? Never, ever, ever, ever, it makes us that much stronger and more power, stand tall, remember your heroes, the White Mouse. You can hide, go undercover, throw a sheet over your head, pull your hat down, but come back stronger than ever before. There are no coincidences, when you need help, take it, someone is there, they've got your back, stand up to whatever evil, you can do it, take a deep breathe. Be Super Witch! That's right, evil may try to keep us down, but you have to fight, fight, fight, and 'play to win,' no matter the game. Step up to the plate, and keep looking forward…team is in the dugout, what they are doing in there, mixing, concocting, throwing around, you don't want to know...
